Alexander Brown Called as Pastor of Golden Isles PCA

The church I grew up in on St. Simons Island, Ga. has recently called my friend Alexander Brown to be their minister. Alex is originally from Dundee Scotland. During his university days he was a member of St. Peter’s Free Church where Robert Murray McCheyne once ministered, and where David Robertson is currently pastor. Pray for Alex as he labors to grow and shepherd a church in a very difficult mission field (Yes, resort Islands can be difficult places to minister because of the materialism that is so prevalent there!). Below is the announcement from Golden Isles Presbyterian Church:

The Congregation of Golden Isles Presbyterian Church voted unanimously on Sunday, April 18th to extend a call to Mr. Alexander Brown as Senior Pastor. Mr. Brown’s Ordination and Installation Service is scheduled for the evening of Sunday, June 6th, at GIPC. Details regarding the service, the timing of Alex, Sara and daughter Ada’s move from Savannah to Saint Simons Island, and Alex’s start date, will be announced.
