“Filling the Shepherd’s Fold” Seminar

This upcoming weekend (Feb. 17-19) I am scheduled to be speaking about church planting/gathering at Reedy River PCA church in Conestee, SC. The theme of the seminar talks is  “Filling the Shepherd’s Fold: Theological, Practical and Methodological Insights on Outreach.” Some of the topics that will be addressed are:

I. Being Attractional

The Biblical mandate, techniques & restrictions.

Congregational involvement (i.e. hospitality, inviting, etc.)

The importance of advertising.

Accessibility

Contextualization

 

II. Being Missional

Community engagement.

Personal evangelism.

The place and definition of Christian love.

Realistic expectations.

Time frames.

The cost of outreach (emotionally and materially).

The need for perseverance and prayer.

Is there a time to refocus? … to quit? Real life experiences … mistakes, griefs and joys.

Reedy River Presbyterian Church
46 So, Main St., Conestee, SC
(south of Greenville, between Mauldin & Donaldson Center)

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 17 ….. 7:30 – 9:00pm

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 18 ….. 10:00 – 12:00 noon
12:00 – 1:00 pm lunch provided at the church (RSVPs will be appreciated)
Fourth session ….. 1:00 – 2:00 pm

No nursery will be provided.

    Will there be audio recordings, & will they be made available?

    They could be helpful to those thinking through Reformed, confessional missions / evangelism.
