Michael Reeves on Adam and Eve

Here is a phenomenal article by Mike Reeves on the necessity of the historicity of Adam and Eve. It it taken from the forthcoming book Should Christians Embrace Evolution? edited by Norman Nevin (IVP-UK, P&R). I have not read a theological defense as good as this that actually interacts with the more nuanced expressions of theistic evolution.

Thanks, Nick. I agree. For all his great points, I thought he got a little too close to the so-called “Realist view” (i.e., that we are constituted sinners on the grounds of our genetic connection with Adam) when he advocated for an ontological basis for imputed guilt, complementarianism, etc. As I see it, the procreation of Adam’s seed is the means by which covenant solidarity with Adam finds its expression in individual human beings. Thanks for staying on this.
